Carotid angiogram/angioplasty
Invasive carotid angiography involves injecting contrast dye into the neck arteries via a catheter (long, small tube) to visualize the artery and check for injury or blockages. A sheath (a short, small tube) is placed into an artery of the body (usually the wrist or groin) using a needle after numbing the skin. Angioplasty is the process of performing an intervention on the artery (example: stenting) to fix the injury or blockage. If you have carotid artery disease or symptoms of a TIA/stroke then you may need a vascular specialist consultation. Contact Premier Heart today for an appointment.

AAA Stent Graft
Abdominal aortic aneurysms may need to be repaired. One way of fixing them is with a special stent (endovascular stent grafting) that is placed into the abdominal aorta similar to a cardiac catheterization procedure. A large proportion of abdominal aortic aneurysms can be treated by this method as opposed to open abdominal surgery. If you or a family member have a history of AAA, then you may benefit from consultation with a vascular specialist. Contact Premier Heart today for an appointment.
Lower extremity angiogram/angioplasty
Lower extremity arterial angiography involves injecting contrast dye into the leg arteries via a catheter (long, small tube) to visualize the artery and check for injury or blockages. A sheath (a short, small tube) is placed into an artery of the body (usually the wrist or groin) using a needle after numbing the skin. Angioplasty is the process of performing an intervention on the artery (example: stenting) to fix the injury or blockage. If you have a history of, or symptoms of (leg pain, discoloration, or ulceration), peripheral artery disease, then you may need a vascular specialist consultation.
