Ankle Brachial Index

Ankle brachial index (ABI) is a simple, noninvasive, and quick method of assessing the arterial blood flow of the lower extremities. A special blood pressure cuff is used to obtain arm and leg blood pressures. When blood pressure of the legs is lower than the arms this may be due to artery blockages (peripheral arterial disease). If you are concerned about having peripheral artery disease or you need an ankle brachial index then contact Premier Heart today for an appointment.

Arterial Ultrasound

An ultrasound probe with gel is applied to various arteries of the body (neck, arms, abdomen, legs) to visualize and assess the condition of these arteries. Plaque (atherosclerosis), blockages, injuries to the artery and blood flow may be visualized with these tests. If you have symptoms of artery blockages (TIA/stroke, arm discomfort, abdominal discomfort, leg discomfort), you are concerned about having peripheral arterial disease or you need an arterial ultrasound, contact Premier Heart today for an appointment.

Venous Ultrasound

An ultrasound probe with gel is applied to various veins of the body (example: legs) to visualize and assess the condition of these veins. Blood clots (thrombi) and blood flow may be visualized with these tests. If you have symptoms of clots or poor venous blood flow (leg swelling, pain, discoloration) than you may need a venous ultrasound. Contact Premier Heart today for an appointment.
